Whispering soul

Standard

Trying not to be proud
Trying not to be broken
Noticing both
With each word spoken
Asking for humility
Asking for grace
Without both of these
A soul is misplaced
Sitting and listening
Whispering soul
Uttering utterances
Utterly told
Through feelings and prayers
And songs and groans
A soul in wrapped in canvas
A body on loan
Wanting true freedom
Tasting it now
But without the ability
To swallow somehow
Remaining awaiting
A time yet to come
When unbound and open
Goodness will run
Lasting forever
Finally peace
Endlessly sunshine
Completely released

Window Soul

Standard

If you’d

Slowly let me

Bring you ’round,

You will

Smile again.

Perhaps you faded

For awhile,

But you will

Shine ahead.

There’s a window

In every soul;

We each exchange

A closer view.

Though you’ve struggled

And it’s turned cold,

Warmth will return as

Sun filters through.

Pick up your feet.

Chin up too.

Look into my eyes.

Remember me?

I still love you.

intercession

Standard

i was drifting
nearly slipping
but you were giving
soul uplifting

i was wanting
soul left starving
you were warming
soul imparting

i was confessing
you were quenching
with unrelenting
soul indwelling

you give me feeling
refesh my breathing
a numbness relieving
soul interceding
