Girlish Seawalk

Standard

Head in the clouds
Heart in the sea
Toes dipping down
Into serendipity

Elbows in the breeze
Hands like anemones
Sticking to the things
That make her happy

Will sure and boulder strong
Ear tuned to seagulls song
Lungs filled freshest air
Endless dancing not a care

Eyes light and clear and true
Shimmering like the ocean’s blue
Hair whipping as the grass
A sunshiny tangly mess

Thoughts scattered like the sand
Pulled and pushed
At waves command

Harbouring not a squall
Nor vicious undertow
Glad to float wherever
Tides might flow

Whitecaps

Standard

Ocean Whitecaps by Wayne Logan

The whitecaps push
Away bad thoughts
The whitecaps
Pull the tension out
The whitecaps lull
The mind to peaceful rest
The whitecaps fold
Silent fears beneath their crests
The whitecaps tickle
At the shoreline rocks
The whitecaps laugh
And sing such lovely songs
The whitecaps coax
The sky to sleep
The whitecaps whisper
To the stars sweetest things

Frozen Footprints

Standard

 IMG_1466

Following some
Frozen footprints
In the sand
Awakened before
Life’s demands
Push me into
Going going
Always on the run
Having a
Frost-filled moment
With the rising sun
Slowly thawing
In the misty blue
The gulls are singing
In the orangish hues
My heart is freshened
With each breath of air
And I’m moved to
Live this day
More gratefully aware
And I’m thankful for
Frozen footprints

Soft words

Standard
I will carry a shell
In my pocket
And when I
Lose my way
I will take it out
Put it to my ear
And listen
To what it’ll say
It will whisper
Soft words
Of the ocean
Things heard
Upon the spray
It will remind me
Of blue skies
And better days
Then I will know
Even in the storms
Everything will
Turn out okay

September Sunrise

Standard

photo 5
standing on The Rock
listening to The Sun rising
my heart calmly singsphoto 1

the changing colours
and the passing sea lions
i pause to see Life

The Sun takes it’s time
for The Light cannot be rushed
warmth penetrates slow

the moon’s reflection
bows to true Light’s glory
crowning the morning

creation whispers
be still and hear nature’s voice
speak the things of God
