Four swans sitting
Preening on an icy lake
Breezeless morning
Time to contemplate
Snow fallen
Finely placed
Thankful heart for
Such wondrous days
December has never
Ended this way
The year is naked
With possibilities
Here’s to what God
Next orchestrates

“The end of a matter is better than its beginning, and patience is better than pride.” ~ Ecclesiastes 7:8

Tie me to shoreIMG_9852
Your word be my rope
Knot to my heart
Or I shall drift by
Afloat on life’s whims
Subject to its winds
You’re the firm
And strong wharf
Hold me here
Tie me off
Don’t let the rope go
Hold onto me so
Hold on to me

endless green

all the shades

of luscious green

grasses, fronds

and pine trees

lily pads and leaves

how effortlessly

the emerald sings

all those songs

that funnel to

mine ears

Paradise seems

a little near’r

like Eden’s symphony

had ne’er ceased

as quieted soul

hears it endlessly

mine lake, quadra island

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures.
He leads me beside still waters.
 He restores my soul.

~Psalm 23:1-2
