endless green

all the shades

of luscious green

grasses, fronds

and pine trees

lily pads and leaves

how effortlessly

the emerald sings

all those songs

that funnel to

mine ears

Paradise seems

a little near’r

like Eden’s symphony

had ne’er ceased

as quieted soul

hears it endlessly

mine lake, quadra island

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures.
He leads me beside still waters.
 He restores my soul.

~Psalm 23:1-2

He finished off

His evil deed

He killed my Mama

‘Cause she got diseased

She tried to make

Her way back to health

But it was hard after

He stole her wealth

But she said her

True treasure was

Little me

She was so proud of

Her little seed

I grew up strong

A small offshoot

Thanks to my Mama’s

Nursing root

She taught me all

Time could allow

She fed me with

Her sweet marrow

But that day my tears

Could not be hushed

As I heard his

Chainsaw buzz

I felt numb

From root to greens

While the monster hummed

Her to smithereens

She lay there still

A heap of rounds

The day he cut

My Mama down

I guess she soon

Will be cremated

Good thing in me

She’s reincarnated
