standing on The Rock
listening to The Sun rising
my heart calmly singsphoto 1

the changing colours
and the passing sea lions
i pause to see Life

The Sun takes it’s time
for The Light cannot be rushed
warmth penetrates slow

the moon’s reflection
bows to true Light’s glory
crowning the morning

creation whispers
be still and hear nature’s voice
speak the things of God

Thumbs

Standard

Have you ever looked at

Your thumb

And been dumbfounded

By the wonder of

It’s usefulness

It’s uniqueness

No one’s fingerprints

Are the same

We each are

Individually made

Exclaiming how

Great God is

To care and create

Us in an orderly

Extraordinary way

“And he is not served by human hands, as if he needed anything. Rather, he himself gives everyone life and breath and everything else. From one man he made all the nations, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands. God did this so that they would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from any one of us. ” ~Acts 17:25-27

a spectacle of myself

photo

i am just a speck

in time

through all the eons

that have gone by

i am just a speck

in size

compared to all galaxies

science apprized

i am just a speck

of soul

amongst the billions

ever known

and yet i am

spectacular

as special as

any other creature

i have value

I have worth

because I was

a created child

invented before

my birth

set in time

in space

in size

to show off

The Great Spectator’s

creative power

after all it was

His desire

to make a

spectacle

like me

as different as

i may be

i was first

thought of

in His mind’s eye

i was created by

The Greatest Mastermind

Dedicated to my older brothers.

“But now, O Lord, you are our Father; we are the clay, and you

are our potter; we are all the work of your hand.” ~Isaiah 64:8

Psalm 139:13-16

Psalm 103:13-15

The word “speck” inspired this poem. As a little sister, my brothers would, of course, tease me. “Speck” was a nickname of sorts they used to tease me with for a short while. I suppose inadvertantly they taught me that it is okay to be different.
