Becoming someone

Different

But therefore

More oneself

Changing as

Life breaks you

Finding ways

To reglue dignity

And rise above

Regaining health

Reinvention of

New ailments

Flipping pain

To that was

Meant to be

Never feeling

Victimized

But free to

Move affliction

Into fresh

And beautiful

        less lovely
          but smelling
            wildly wonderful
              somewhat spent
                but drenched in
                  punchy pungency

but the word of our God endures forever.” ~Isaiah 40:8

renaissance body

Standard

embracing
your renaissance body
believing
you’re beautiful
dismissing
Hollywood’s throbbing
telling you lies
that aren’t
really true
every curve
of your body
is a part of your
entire debut
every freckle
and wrinkle
adds twinkle
that shines
more like
the star
that is you
every strand
whitely turning
is turning
you into
a gorgeous
somebody new
so embrace yourself
your beauteous
pulchritudinous
wondrous you
just love
your true self
love your
true true self

“Gray hair is a crown of splendor;
it is attained in the way of righteousness.” ~ Proverbs 16:31

“Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting;
but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.” ~Proverbs 31:30

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
    your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.” ~ Psalm 139:14

Dusty angel

She,

Leonardo Da Vinci ~ Head of a Young Woman with Tousled Hair

Like Cinderella,
Left lonely
In the world.
With the cruetly
Of others
For her stead,
And the cement curbside
For her bed.
Could she turn
Her roughened
Rosy cheek?
Could she still
Be pleasant,
Meek and sweet?
A golden heart beneath
Bone and breast
And like a
Dusty angel
Softly tread
Touching those
Who on her
Soul are etched.

mental martyrdom

Standard

moving beyond

mental martyrdom

thinking nothing is sacrifice

but all is pure joy

nothing is beneath me

wanting to give more and more

the realization of being

blessed beyond measure

seeing it all as beauty

getting good and dirty

realizing that only in heaven

is there true treasure

“Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” ~ Matthew 6:19-20
