The Heart of Spring ~ Marianne LoMonaco http://www.etsy.com/shop/MarianneLoMonaco

‘Neath the blossomed orchard trees,
Branches swaying in the breeze,
Lay lovers resting sweet, supine,
Bosoms blushing, limbs entwined.

Drunk on fragrant, flitting blooms,
Intoxicating, sweet perfumes;
Abed a quilt of grass and moss,
Opens new love dewy and soft.

Oft the singing birds fall hush,
Enamored by liaisons lush.
Oh, the florid whims of youth;
If only it could be in sooth.

Decide

Obstruction knelt by the silent sea,
Longing for the wind to blow in destiny.

But for this satisfaction never came,
Unheard, unanswered questions call her name.

Rather, stagnant water only lulled along the shore,
Escaping never from the one she knew before.

Captured still by choice without precision,
Endless days of pondering with no decision.

Through inability to come to a conclusion,
She keeps drowning her life in this illusion.

This room

how I have loved it!
though small
it never confined
illuminated brightness
of a new world
the morning songs
bring a fresh start
to a new day
I came here to find
myself
a dream
resolved to keep
moving and imagining
it isn’t over
this is just the
beginning
more will come after
this room
so many rooms
of life and joy
‘til the final room
where I will be
complete.

Shame

Shame

I want to give up this body

in two ways.

It fails so wretchedly in being

good.

There is no control within

just lust.

And yet my truest desire

is You.

To offer myself as a holy and pure

sacrifice.

How come I can’t let go of

this sin?

Our relationship comes to a

standstill,

Each time I fall from

Your grace.

My only hope is Your

forgiveness.
