lacklustre

Standard
i like it when
the lustre wears off
when something becomes
less appealing
it's revealing
it tells true feelings
who or what is standing
still unabashedly loving
affections continuing
despite the diminishing
where lies the loyalty
unaffected by less popularity
unfettered by opinions
unwavering & persevering
holding on though hurting
non-flashy & dirty
uglier perhaps
but still found worthy
better somehow
through life's beatings
stronger somehow
after bleeding
scars that end up beauty
faithful & more truly
in love with the aging
deeper character
found in fading
hands still left holding
onto what's worth keeping
after the lustre wears off

Graffiti

Standard

What to write on a cliff?

Hellos, goodbyes,

What ifs…

Times & dates,

Peoples’ names,

Tic-Tac-Toe games,

Precious quotes,

Political votes ,

Random thoughts,

Wars fought,

Babies born,

Hearts torn,

Love & hate

In spray paint.

All that matters

In colours;

Splattered.

Overlapping words,

Messages blurred.

Anonymous & obvious,

Kindness & obnoxiousness,

Innocent & obscene,

Captivating & free,

What art uniquely,

What graffiti briefly

To put here on this cliff

Like a modern hieroglyph?

At Big Rock

Run-on

Standard

runon

I’m like a big
run-on sentence
that never stops
talking to myself
and others even
when I want to
be quiet I can’t
shut off my mind
and I keep going
on and on and on
wondering how
to put an end
to my pointless
thoughts and
whatnot and
whatever waking
moment finds me
it finds me not
speechless for
a single second
what happened
to inner peace
i need relief and
more sleep and
less people
adding to me
I just want to be
alone and free
to finally let
all words be
deleted no not
deleted or erased
just blank
nothing on
a white page.

in quietness and trust is your strength,
but you would have none of it.”
~Isaiah 30:15

“Even fools are thought wise they keep silent,
and discerning if they hold their tongues.”
