Don’t look

Looking at TV imagery
Is nothing like reading it
Looking at food
Is nothing like eating it
Looking at life
Is nothing like living it
So read, eat and be merry

new year

          every day lengthens
             slowly I strengthen
                old resolve freshened
                   releasing tension,
                      flotsam and jetsam
                         uncertainty seldom
                            new wisdom welcome
                               beginning inception
                                  with circumspection

"The end of a matter is better than its beginning,
and patience is better than pride." ~Ecclesiastes 7:8

Have you ever looked at

Your thumb

And been dumbfounded

By the wonder of

It’s usefulness

It’s uniqueness

No one’s fingerprints

Are the same

We each are

Individually made

Exclaiming how

Great God is

To care and create

Us in an orderly

Extraordinary way

“And he is not served by human hands, as if he needed anything. Rather, he himself gives everyone life and breath and everything else. From one man he made all the nations, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands. God did this so that they would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from any one of us. ” ~Acts 17:25-27

Dawning Day

A seal sits by

Knowing, as do I

That the sunrise

Will be glorious

The sea gulls cry

And a loon silently glides

Shaking out it’s lullaby

For the dawning day

Is nearly upon us

The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases;
his mercies never come to an end;
they are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness.
“The Lord is my portion,” says my soul,
“therefore I will hope in him.”

~Lamentations 3:22-24
