a corner of His garment

Standard

I reap
what they’ve sown.
I glean
what they’ve grown.
I am a woman
of destitution.
I get by through
their fruition.
I need a
Kinsman Redeemer.
I need someone to
be my Keeper.
I lay my life
at Jesus feet
that He might spread
the corner of
His garment
over me.

Flaming Love

Standard

He yearns for me
I am his sole desire
He burns for me
I am within love’s fire

I dance in his flames
We are not consumed
Flood waters rain
We are not subdued

Sealed in a flaming box
Burning with intensity
Love that blisters hot
Kindled with no reprieve

He loves me to death
As jealous as the grave
Dragon’s fire in his breath
He sets onlookers ablaze

I lay down and sleep in coals
Wrapped in blanket embers
I sleep sweet within the glow
Smoldering aroused pleasure

He yearns for me
I am his sole desire
He burns for me
I am within love’s fire

“Set me as a seal upon your heart,
as a seal upon your arm,
for love is strong as death,
jealousy is fierce as the grave.
Its flashes are flashes of fire,
the very flame of the Lord.
Many waters cannot quench love,
neither can floods drown it.
If a man offered for love
all the wealth of his house,
he would be utterly despised.”
~Song of Solomon 8:6-7

 Lightning is crashing
Because I can hear the thunder,
                         But from where I sit,
Its sight is too far yonder.
                                            If my truck were here,
                                 I'd chase that thunder,
For I  enjoy such epic wonder.
Yes, I would chase those flashes,
                 Since I often long
                         For this type of action.
It would be crazy to catch
                                           An electrifying bolt,
                                  To be revved up by
                             A kabillion volts.
                     I think I could use
                Such a jolt.
        I would take a bite
   Off a fork;
        I would swallow down
               An electric spark.
                    Random people
                         Have survived
                              Such things
                                   I wonder what
                                         Enlightenment
                                             It could bring

“Can anyone understand the spreading of the clouds,
the thunderings of his pavilion?
Behold, he scatters his lightning about him
and covers the roots of the sea.” ~Job 36:29-30

Red and Black

Standard
Shall I still paint myself black
Though He has made me
White as snow?

Shall I still paint myself red
Though He paid for my sins and
Made me whole?

Shall I still rub in all that I have done before?
Well, I think I will if it means I can
Reach out to one person more.

London Fog

Standard

It’s an
Earl Grey
ugly day,
overcast,
dripping;
reminicent of
London Fog.
It won’t
kill me
like it
did those
subjected to
The Great Smog
of 1952,
but I may
kill the inertia
and blues
by making
Pea Soup
and catching up
on a thing
or two
