refreshing raspberries

Standard

refreshing                 raspberries.
sweet and tart        upon my tongue.
tantalizing taste buds for another one.
ruby-red deliciousness. reminds me of
my lover’s kiss. capsules filled with
juice so ripe. squish them, crush
them; stains so bright. feeling
velvet on my lips. better than
the wines i sip. natural
candy, God’s design.
let me have
another
pint
!

ahem

tongue-tied

not free

voice boxed

where it should be

cheeks red

wrists slapped

life’s now

bubble wrapped

oops there

spills the beans

now it’s

time to clean

hands off

subject dropped

slippery words

kinda mopped

dirty laundry

out to dry

try not to

bat an eye

tsk

Poetry

Standard

Poetry.

I get a glimpse of something on

the brink of my brain,

the tip of my tongue.

Then I must wrestle with

the words until

they topple down

tinkling, tediously through

my pen

and pouncing upon my

pad of paper.

Fidgeting, fumbling, fussing

sometimes forcefully

until they fit

and form

a poem.
